Getting help for you and your family

ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS

1. Routine consultations with our Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), Paramedics and Doctors are available for pre-booking up to 4 weeks in advance.

2. Please submit a Klinik form via the Home Page on our Website to make your request. As routine consultations are available for pre-booking up to 4 weeks in advance you can submit a Klinik form between 08:00 and 16:00 to request your routine appointment. If you telephone the Practice between 16:00 and 18:30 with a routine request the receptionist will either ask you to submit a Klinik form the following day, or will assist you to complete and submit a Klinik form for triage by the Klinik Doctor on the next working day.

3. Your routine appointment will be either a telephone or a face to face consultation which will be arranged at a convenient time for you. If you are waiting for a telephone consultation, the clinicians will try their best to call you at the allocated time, however there may be delays.  Please call the surgery for any updates if you have not received a call within 30 minutes from the allocated time.

4. If you wish to cancel any appointments please let us know as soon as possible.

MINOR ILLNESS APPOINTMENTS

5. If you need help with a minor illness such as an ear infection or tonsillitis, please submit a Klinik request between 08:00 and 16:00 on the day that you require assistance and you will be offered either a telephone or a face to face consultation as clinically appropriate with our Nurse Practitioner or one of our Paramedics.

URGENT APPOINTMENTS

6. If you have an urgent matter that needs to be dealt with on the day, please submit a Klinik request between 08:00 and 16:00 and as soon as you are aware that you need help and the Klinik Doctor will triage your request and arrange an appointment for you. If you telephone the Practice between 16:00 and 18:30 with an urgent matter the receptionist will assist you with completing a Klinik request for triage by the Duty Clinician that afternoon.

7. All Children under 16 years of age with acute presentations will be offered a same-day consultation if needed. Please submit a Klinik form on your child's behalf for triage by the Klinik Doctor.

8. If you think you may need a home visit please complete and submit a Klinik form before 12:00 noon if possible and our Klinik Doctor will triage your request as appropriate. If a home visit request is made after 12 noon it may be triaged and arranged for the next working day.

Active Signposting

Our receptionists are trained in Active Signposting and they will direct you to alternative services as appropriate; for instance the Choose Pharmacy Service offered by local pharmacies who can provide consultations and prescriptions for minor illnesses such as Acne, Athlete's Foot, Backache (Acute), Chicken Pox, Conjunctivitis, Constipation, Dermatitis, Dry Eyes, Haemorrhoids, Hay Fever, Head Lice, Indigestion and Reflux, Intertrigo/Ringworm, Nappy Rash, Oral Thrush, Scabies, Sore Throat and Tonsillitis, Teething, Threadworms, Vaginal Thrush and Verrucas.  You may also be signposted to the Dentist for dental problems and Opticians Services for eye problems.

Chaperones

You are welcome to request a chaperone to be present during your consultation or examination. Please let the doctor know that you would like this service.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason, please telephone us to cancel as soon as possible in order that we can offer that appointment to someone else. Should you miss two appointments within a six-month period, we may write to you to ask you to let us know the reasons for this happening. As you may have missed your appointments through oversight or a genuine problem outside of your control, we would like to give you the opportunity to explain.
